  • For Henkel Singapore and our Global Supply Chain Hub in Singapore, we introduced extensive measures in our offices. The “Bring Your Own Cup” has eliminated the use of 18,000 paper cups and 5,000plastic water bottles annually. Since June 2018, our switch to solar energy for all our electrical sources is expected to save around 102 tons of CO2 emissions annually, which is equal to emission savings of around 45 round-trip plane rides between Singapore to Shanghai. Additionally, Henkel has switched to recycled paper, increased aircon temperatures onsite and implemented daily earth hour from 12pm to 1pm. Furthermore, the use of centralized waste bins helped to save 13,000 trash bags every year.r
    r
To promote sustainability among young children, Henkel’s employees, who are trained Sustainability Ambassadors, have been visiting preschools every year on World Water Day to teach young children simple tips to be sustainable at home. Since 2016, we have reached more than 2,000 students through our school outreach program and initiatives. This includes our collaboration with Girl Guides Singapore and MINDS-Fernvale for the first time in 2019. As an outreach partner for Ricoh’s Eco Action Day in 2019, Henkel has pledged our support for climate actions and encouraged our school partners to pledge their support.r
    r
Henkel also actively supports the sustainability efforts of other organizations. On Henkel Day 2018, our employees participated in coastal cleanup and debris sample collection at Tanah Merah Beach to support the research project on marine waste under the National University of Singapore (NUS)‒NParks Marine Debris Monitoring Programme. In 2019, as part of Henkel's global Trash Fighter initiative, our employees participated in the cleanup of the waterway and areas around the Marina Reservoir and collected 32kg of waste. In line with this, Henkel has donated 10,000 euros to Waterways Watch Society to support their conservation efforts. In 2018 and 2019, Henkel has also sponsored Eco-business' Changing Course documentaries and photography exhibitions.
